Industries Case study
Four roofing companies. One coordinated renewal.
Virtus helped an ownership group consolidate a coverage line across four acquired businesses, bringing separate carriers and renewal schedules together.
The challenge
A private equity firm brought four roofing companies under common ownership. For one line of insurance, the businesses still carried separate legacy policies with four carriers and renewal dates spread across February, June, and August.
Ownership had a combined business to manage, but this part of its insurance remained fragmented. Multiple policies and renewal cycles made it harder to compare terms and coordinate account management.
The approach
Virtus reviewed the four legacy policies and their coverage terms, then coordinated the transition to one carrier for that coverage line.
The team worked through the existing renewals individually, aligning the businesses to a common June 1 effective date. The transition required attention to each entity’s existing arrangements and continuity of coverage as it moved to the consolidated program.
The result
All four entities moved onto one carrier and a single June 1 renewal date for the coverage line reviewed. Three renewal cycles became one, giving ownership a coordinated schedule and one program to review across the four businesses.
The change simplified carrier communication and day-to-day account management. It also gave the ownership group a more consistent coverage structure for this part of its insurance.
For businesses growing through acquisition, bringing companies together operationally does not automatically bring their insurance arrangements together. Reviewing the inherited policies can identify opportunities to coordinate coverage and renewals around the combined business.
