AVIATION
Built for Real Operations
WHAT WE DO
Modernizing Aviation Insurance
Aviation is one of the most advanced, data-rich industries in the world—yet aviation insurance has largely failed to keep pace. While operators rely on real-time data, automation, and predictive systems to improve safety and performance, insurance programs are still often built on outdated workflows, limited visibility, and relationship-driven underwriting.
At Virtus, we believe aviation risk should be evaluated the same way aviation operates: with precision, transparency, and a deep understanding of how aircraft are flown, maintained, and managed. Our approach combines real-world aviation experience with a forward-looking mindset to help clients navigate an industry that’s long overdue for modernization.

The Virtus way
“Good aviation insurance starts with understanding the operation. When coverage reflects how aircraft are flown, maintained, and managed, it becomes a strategic tool—not just a requirement.”

Common Challenges in Aviation Insurance
Coverage that doesn’t match how the operation actually runs
Policies are often built from generic submissions that miss critical details around aircraft use, crew structure, maintenance practices, and regulatory exposure. The result is coverage that looks fine on paper but creates gaps, restrictions, or surprises when something changes—or when a claim occurs.
Limited transparency in pricing and underwriting decisions
Aviation insurance is still heavily relationship-driven, making it difficult for operators to understand why premiums increase, why certain exclusions appear, or how their risk is truly being evaluated. Without data-driven insight, safe operators often pay for risk they don’t actually present.
Slow, manual processes that don't keep up with operations
Policy changes, certificates, endorsements, and claims can take far longer than they should. In an industry that runs on precision and timing, outdated insurance workflows introduce friction, delay, and unnecessary operational risk.
