About

Born & raised in Kansas City.  Oldest of three kids.  Went to St. Thomas More in Kansas City, MO for 10 years before graduating from Blue Valley West High School.  Went on to obtain Finance Degree from the University of Kansas.  Paid my way through college selling Cutco for 5 straight years as an award-winning individual contributor and branch manager.

I've always been business-minded, naturally curious, as well as an innovative thinker, so I chose a career where I could leverage those strengths to help businesses thrive.

My whole career I've been passionate about helping executives solve business problems and optimize efficiencies throughout their enterprise through forward-thinking strategies that ultimately increase the bottom line.

Started my career as a Management Consultant with RSM US LLP  and then transitioned to Paycom Software into a consultative business sales role.  Throughout my years of experience in both roles, I became seasoned in consulting with executives on their top priorities and then working with them to solve business challenges by leveraging the appropriate creative solution.

I couldn't be more excited to now be taking these skills and my experience to Team Virtus and the Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group and work with the industry's best and most creative experts in insurance and in hospitality to together build and grow a team that offers unparalleled value to hotels and resorts. In this new capacity, I look forward to continuing to help businesses that are critical to their local economies thrive as we bring true partnership and world-class programs to our clients.

What's the biggest life lesson you've learned?

I don't know if I could choose a best. The first life lesson I ever learned was that hard work pays off if you stick with it, persist/persevere, and never give up. One of the best lessons I've learned is the importance of resourcefulness and adaptability. One of my mentors, Justin Donald, used to say that "your best resource is your resourcefulness" and it is something I really took to heart personally and have also always preached to my teams. Learning to be resourceful enough to never have excuses and take full ownership over your success and results has been very empowering for me and has also been critical to the success I've had so far. Going along with resourcefulness is the importance of adaptability and a few years ago after hearing a guest speaker, I put a post-it on my home monitor that says "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome", borrowing the Marine Corps unofficial logo. I could go on about this at length, but suffice to say, it has also been critical over the years.
